Yale Engineering Student Clubs & Organizations

At Yale Engineering, student-led organizations provide countless opportunities to explore, collaborate, compete, and innovate. From launching rockets and building racecars to advancing renewable energy, developing satellites, and serving the community, our clubs push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Whether you’re passionate about technology, engineering for social impact, or solving global challenges, you’ll find a place to connect with like-minded peers and shape the future. Yale Engineering clubs generally fall into three key categories:

  • Pre-Professional Organizations: IEEE (Electrical Engineering), ASME (Mechanical Engineering), and others support technical skill-building and career development.
  • Affinity & Identity-Based Groups: Organizations such as WGICS (Women & Gender Minorities in Computer Science), NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers), and SWE (Society of Women Engineers) – along with other student-led groups – support diversity, inclusion, and community within Yale Engineering. Many more organizations play a vital role in creating spaces where students of all backgrounds can connect and thrive.
  • Project-Focused Teams: Groups like YUAA (Yale Undergraduate Aerospace Association) and Engineers Without Borders give students hands-on experience in engineering innovation and problem-solving.
