Faculty Leaves
Information regarding faculty leaves is included in the Faculty Handbook, Section XX.

Faculty who wish to request a leave during the 2027-2028 academic year should submit a request using the online leave application form. Instructions for submitting your application and the leave form can be found here.
Faculty should submit requests no later than Friday, November 6, 2026.
Approvals will be sent from the SEAS Dean’s Office in December or January.
Assistant Professors who wish to request a pre-tenure leave during the 2027-2028 academic year should submit a request using the online leave application form. Instructions for submitting your online application and the leave form can be found here. Please note instructions for additional required documents below.
Faculty should submit leave requests no later than Friday, November 6, 2026.
- Junior faculty requesting a lab setup leave (in the first year of their appointment) should indicate Initial Appointment Leave and note Lab Setup Leave in the Comments. Additional documentation is not required for a lab setup leave application.
- For any leave beyond the first year, Junior Faculty should indicate Initial Appointment Leave or Post-Reappointment Leave and attach their CV and the SEAS Junior Faculty Leave Request Form as one document.
Approvals will be sent from the SEAS Dean’s Office in December or January.
