Two faculty named to Clarivate's 'Highly Cited Researchers' List for 2025

Jaehong Kim, the Henry P. Becton Sr. Professor of Chemical & Environmental Engineering, and Fengnian Xia, the Tso-Ping Ma Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering, have been named to Clarivate's Highly Cited Researchers list for 2025.

Kim was recognized in Environment and Ecology, while Xia was recognized in Physics. Both have appeared on the list multiple times in previous years.

The annual list recognizes researchers whose work ranks in the top 1% by citations for their field and publication year over the past decade. Clarivate then refines this list using qualitative analysis and expert judgment to identify those demonstrating broad, community-wide influence. In total, 6,868 researchers from more than 1,300 institutions in 60 countries made the 2025 list.
